Makes No Difference Who You Are, Believe
Worship Fest Akron (WFA) Holiday Gospel Concert is being called Akron’s biggest gospel event to date. While we appreciate the accolades, the objectives and the focus of WFA has always been unity and corporate worship. We pray and expect God to dwell among us as each Gospel recording artist that we selected has the unique ability to open their hearts and leverage their musical gifting to usher in the presence of God and literally cause a shifting of the atmosphere! WFA features #RickyDillard and #NewG, #EarnestPugh, #AnitaWilson and #JenniferMekel.
As we approach December 13, 2014, purchase your WFA tickets and prepare your hearts to hear from God and Worship with us because God has done great things! Yet, we strongly encourage you to also purchase a ticket and bring someone to WFA who doesn’t know Christ as their personal savior. The gift of salvation is still one of the greatest gifts of all. The founder of WFA designed it to be a life TRANSFORMING WORSHIP EXPERIENCE.
MEET WFA FOUNDER
Dee Howard has strong work ethic and a heart to support music that inspires others. “I believe that music is what I was born to do, even though I can’t play or sing a note. Even when I had a day job it was to support my desire to work in music”.
With over 20 years of entertainment industry experience, promoting and producing events, artists and records Dee Howard is an entrepreneur who formed Elite Music Group Inc. with a longtime friend. Elite released the debut CD on American Idol (season six) 4th place finalist LaKisha Jones and a CD with two top 15 singles on Cleveland’s Antoine Dunn. After touring with Dunn alongside R&B stars such as Anthony Hamilton, Estelle and KEM, Howard had extensive back surgery. It was during that time off that he evaluated the industry he loved, as well as his personal goals and came up with Worship Fest.
Howard says, “WFA is an event of Praise and Worship with the life-giving message of Jesus. Providing people with a positive spiritual event that enhances their walk and possibly leading new believers to dedicate their lives to Christ. With the ever growing negative trends in today’s society, I feel it’s my duty to use my talents to make a difference and offer the music and praise of God’s word. It is also important to me to start an annual event to bring local communities together in worship.”
Howard, has worked in genres ranging from Rhythm & Blues, Gospel to Rap and has tirelessly devoted his career to his passion of music while devoting his life to being a father who desires to be a shining example to his now teenage son (who is Autistic) helping his son find and explore his passions just like his father has.
GIVE A TOY SHARE THE JOY
Worship Fest Akron has teamed-up with RnB recording artist ZanYe (Conversations) for her 3rd Annual “THE JOY OF GIVING” Toy Drive & Concert. Wow! This changes everything!!! The children from the two nonprofits that ZanYe’s Toy Drive benefits are connected to families in the Detroit and Akron areas. So on December 13 bring a Toy to Worship Fest Akron 2014 Holiday Gospel Concert. Your gift of a toy will put a smile on the face and in the heart of a child who feel forgotten during Christmas-time. – Gift cards are accepted, too.
December 13, ZanYe will be at the Akron Civic Theater to greet and thank each WFA concert goers for your gift of a toy! No child should feel forgotten on Christmas. We hope to help ZanYe in her efforts. Did you know children struggles with depression and thoughts of suicide around the holidays just like adults? WFA wants to do our part and lend a helping hand and we want you to join us.
This year ZanYe’s Toy Drive will directly benefit 200+ children who are participants of Yatooma’s Foundation For The Kids and SAFE both non profit organizations are doing wonderful work with families in southeast Michigan and parts of Ohio.
